Preservation Month is a nationally recognized event, sponsored annually with the National Trust for Historic Preservation, honoring and promoting historic preservation.  Rock Island Preservation Society, local co-sponsor with the National Trust, will honor preservation successes and promote the social and economic benefits of historic preservation during the month of May, 2014.

Each year as part of National Preservation Month, Rock Island Preservation Society recognizes outstanding preservation projects by presenting Preservation Awards and Certificates of Recognition to individuals and groups whose contributions demonstrate outstanding excellence in historic preservation, rehabilitation and restoration.  By identifying these projects, Rock Island Preservation Society demonstrates to the community the importance of preservation and the role historic structures play in building community identity.  Watch for award presentation details coming soon.
