RIPS Newsletter “The Downtown Edition.” Downtown Rock Island will soon be listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Articles include the history of downtown, including examples of important structures that make Rock Island unique. You will also learn a bit about the financial incentives that help property owners rehab and restore their buildings.
We are a city-wide organization in Rock Island, Illinois, that advocates for preservation of our built environment through public education, research of historic buildings and sites and registration of significant historical places with local, state and federal authorities.
