This quarter’s newsletter has quite the calendar of activities for the preservationists in all of us. In addition to the RIPS monthly meetings (3rd Tuesday of the month), learn about programs and workshops at Hauberg and RI Public Library.
We must say farewell to Fire Station No. 5 at Douglas Park in Rock Island as it is now scheduled to be demolished. This newsletter recaps its history and architectural detail.
We also highlight an interesting building in downtown Rock Island. Most recently a law office, it has been through many uses as that part of downtown has undergone numerous changes in the last 150 years.
